摘要: Low circulating CD4 cell numbers and dysfunction are distinguishing features of HIV-mediated disease. The current study delineates the in vivo effects HIV on distinct functional subsets cells homosexually active men who have been infected with for different lengths time, examines capacity lymphocytes from these to proliferate vitro response soluble antigen. Although peripherial blood mononuclear most acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) patients did not either tetanus toxoid or Candida albicans, seropositive without AIDS, many whom had more than 18 mo, responded normally both. Non-responsiveness HIV-infected AIDS was a late event associated longer duration infection, lower numbers, subsequent development AIDS. A defect this observed only one 19 whose levels were greater 300/mm3, but eight 10 less 300/mm3. could be attributed selective depletion defined subpopulations that respond Dual-color immunofluorescent flow cytometry indicated 4B4+, 2H4-, HB-11- lost at faster rate other subsets.
