摘要: The dental profession is becoming increasingly concerned about unacceptable levels of toothwear and there an impression that the condition more prevalent. There is, as yet, little epidemiological evidence to illuminate question so this study therefore intended provide baseline data on prevalence in a sample attending population South East England. A degree normal progresses throughout life. Toothwear which acceptable older age group would not be with younger patients. It necessary designate threshold values for different groups reach realistic conclusions toothwear. Of 1007 patients examined only nine had completely unworn dentitions. More than 93,500 tooth surfaces were these 5.1% wear exceeded values. Despite increasing from those proposed earlier by Smith & Knight (1984), still higher was slight tendency men have women, but no clinically significant relationship between number missing posterior teeth anterior teeth.
