摘要: Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is a heterogeneous autonomic disorder characterised by intolerance and rise in heart rate at least 30 bpm or an absolute value of 120 within 10 min standing during tilt table test. Overwhelmingly, POTS affects young Caucasian women, which can lead physicians to miss the diagnosis men non-white patients. We describe case 29-year-old African-American man who developed lightheadedness, generalised weakness, palpitations was subsequently diagnosed with POTS. review its clinical features, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology treatment options. also emphasise that should be considered as any patient presenting typical may not usual demographics disorder.
