摘要: An efficient transmission protocol for transmitting multimedia streams from a server to client computer over diverse network including local area networks (LANs) and wide (WANs) such as the internet. The includes playout buffer, rate is dynamically matched available bandwidth capacity of connection between computer. If playtime which one measure number data packets currently in drops below computed Decrease_Bandwidth (DEC_BW) threshold, then decreased by sending DEC_BW message server. Conversely, if remaining buffer rises above Upper Increase_Bandwidth (INC_BW) threshold does not drop Lower INC_BW at least an wait period, incremented. can be selected among predetermined set discrete values or within continuous range values. In variation, addition responding changes capacity, also determines average computational capacity. Accordingly, less than lower two capacities determining one, thereby avoiding overrun.
