摘要: The Immulite parathyroid hormone (PTH) immunochemiluminometric assay (ICMA) was evaluated by measuring serum PTH concentrations in 134 volunteers and 25 patients with various diseases affecting bone mineral metabolism comparing those measured the Nichols Allegro immunoradiometric (IRMA) assay. Although assays were highly correlated (r = 0.99. P < 0.0001), there discrepancies at lower which may be explained limit of detection ICMA anti-coagulants EDTA heparin appeared to have significant effects on measurement particularly concentrations. Sera assayed diluted out more uniformly than IRMA no cross reactivity hormone-related peptide either or ICMA. Delays up 8 h specimen handling did not appear affect measurements. enhanced sensitivity intact confers an advantage diagnosis both hyper- hypocalcaemia, while shorter incubation times, automation lack radioactivity are important practical advantages.
