摘要: This paper studies the cellular pattern of supergranular network. We present an algorithm to draw a surface-filling cell on uninterrupted two-day sequence Ca II K filtergrams with 1 nm bandpass. The 60° × 40° field view contains both quiet and enhanced network plages. uses threshold-independent method steepest descent spatially smoothed time-averaged images. determine distribution function areas find broad, asymmetric spectrum areas. is found be invariant for different spatial smoothings if are normalized unit mean. It this invariance that leads us believe we have determined intrinsic Extrapolation average size zero smoothing yields characteristic diameter L = 13-18 Mm. roughly half generally quoted length scale ≈ 32 Mm as autocorrelation methods. difference in reflects application measurement method: used by Simon & Leighton others preferentially weighted towards relatively large cells. no significant dependence local magnetic flux density.
