摘要: The present review analyzes the role nitric oxide (NO) plays in homeostasis of cardiovascular system. By regulating vascular smooth muscle cell and myocyte contractility, myocardial oxygen consumption renal tubular transport, this simple molecule a central control tone, cardiac contractility short long term regulation arterial pressure. Fifteen years ago, all we knew about NO is that it had very similar properties as those endothelium-derived relaxing factor its action was probably mediated by cGMP. An enormous amount knowledge has since been amassed on biochemical pathways follows from moment synthesized L-arginine until physiological or pathological actions take place effector cells. This intends to organize fashion easy understand. We will dissect pathway different steps, focusing pathophysiological isoenzymes which synthesize NO, molecules involved synthesis such caveolins, protein kinases cofactors, situations endogenous inhibitors synthase are formed instead way exerts through cGMP-dependent finally, routes may follow when oxidative status high.
