摘要: Lake Vida is a large, permanently ice-covered lake in the Victoria Valley of McMurdo Dry Valleys, Antarctica and unique among lakes because it ice-sealed, with an ice-cover nearly 19 m. Enrichment cultures melt-water from 15.9 m ice yielded five pure aerobic, heterotrophic bacteria. Of these, one strain grew at −8°C four others −4°C. All isolates were either halotolerant or halophilic, two strains capable growth 15% NaCl. Phylogenetic analysis revealed to be Gammaproteobacteria, related species Psychrobacter Marinobacter. This first report bacteria Vida, displayed phenotype consistent life cold hypersaline environment.
