Massive, massless and ghost modes of gravitational waves from higher-order gravity

摘要: Abstract We linearize the field equations for higher order theories that contain scalar invariants other than Ricci scalar. find besides a massless spin-2 (the standard graviton), theory contains also spin-0 and massive modes. Then, we investigate possible detectability of such additional polarization modes stochastic gravitational wave by ground-based space interferometric detectors. Finally, extend formalism cross-correlation analysis, including modes, calculate detectable energy density spectrum background relic gravity waves corresponds to our model. For situation considered here, these are certainly interest direct detection LISA experiment.
