Magnetic field dependence of the thermal conductivity in EuxSr1-xS

摘要: Abstract The thermal conductivity κ of two Eu x Sr 1- single crystals ( = 0.25 and 0.54) was measured between 1.5 25 K. In magnetic fields ≈ 7 T is enhanced for temperatures up to 20 K with respect κ( B 0). At K, where the relative increase )/κ(0) largest, this ratio 0.54 4 0.25. Two possible mechanisms effect, i.e. freezing phonon scattering by excitations in a field, heat transport field-induced magnons, are discussed.
