Public views on an extended role for community pharmacy

摘要: The acceptability to the general public of an extended role for community pharmacy was investigated using a social survey methodology. Within one locality, sample 133 respondents drawn from four population groups who were likely be extensive users services: active elderly people, mothers young children, carers people with disabilities and in full-time employment. evidence interview supplemented by discussions representative same sections population. results indicate that there is considerable support development range new services pharmacies, majority supporting provision more information on prescribed medicines, opportunity discuss minor symptoms pharmacist, medicine delivery services, holding patient medication records. There less discussing health promotion while cost found major obstacle diagnostic testing. Elderly all aspects acceptable than did other respondent groups. It concluded need market unfamiliar and, if developed effectively, nature relationship between roles pharmacist GP needs demonstrated clearly service users.
