Decay of Ra-226 by C-14 emission

摘要: Previous observation of heavy-ion emission from {sup 226}Ra has been confirmed. Charge and energy the emitted fragment were measured using thin sources polycarbonate track-recording films. Decay by 14}C could be identified unambiguously. The track-detector was calibrated with tandem-accelerated 16}O ions tested observing 223}Ra yielding a branching ratio (5.0{plus minus}1.0){times}10{sup {minus}10}. In case our result for 14}C/{alpha} is (2.3{plus minus}0.8){times}10{sup {minus}11}. Estimates partial half-lives Ra isotopes are discussed.
