摘要: Abstract From a human fetal brain cDNA library, we isolated two transcripts (ZIS-1 and ZIS-2) corresponding to the ZIS gene, an ortholog of rat Zis (zinc finger, splicing). A comparison base sequences its genomic DNA (a P1-derived artificial chromosome clone) revealed that both have ORF 1011 bp encodes 337 amino acids, but ZIS-1 has 10 exons ZIS-2 contains 11 exons. Although share first nine exons, exon is lacking in ZIS-1, instead, (10th exon) larger size, leading longer 3′-UTR. Thus, result from differential splicing. Northern blot analysis on various adult tissues 5.2- 3.2-kb were ubiquitously expressed, 3.9- 1.9-kb highly expressed kidney, respectively. There several other may be alternatively processed forms . Both genes unusually long 3′-UTR, their encoding proteins similar components, i.e. zinc finger domain, nuclear localization signal, Asp–Glu region, Ser–Arg-rich region.
