摘要: A novel bio-based composite material, suitable for electronic as well automotive and aeronautical applications, was developed from soybean oils keratin feather fibers (KF). This environmentally friendly, low-cost can be a substitute petroleum-based materials. Keratin are hollow, light, tough material compatible with several (S) resins, such acrylated epoxidized oil (AESO). The new KFS lightweight composites have density ρ 1 g/cm 3 , when the KF volume fraction is 30%. hollow were not filled by resin infusion retained significant of air in structure fibers. Due to air, dielectric constant, k, range 1.7-2.7, depending on fiber fraction, these values significantly lower than conventional silicon dioxide or epoxy, polymer insulators. coefficient thermal expansion (CTE) 30 wt % 67.4 ppm/°C; this value low enough application similar materials polyimides used printed circuit boards. water absorption AESO 0.5 at equilibrium diffusion dependent content. incorporation soy enhanced mechanical properties storage modulus, fracture toughness, flexural properties, ca. 100% increase vol %. energy single determined about kJ/m 2 stress 100-200 MPa. Considerable improvements should possible optimization selection.
