摘要: Many of the structural modifications modern breeds domestic dog,Canis familiariscan be explained by changes in rate development, during domestication from wolf,C. lupusThese have been dominated paedomorphosis, or underdevelopment, so that adult passes through fewer growth stages and resembles a juvenile stage its ancestor. In this paper effects these processes on signalling ability 10 selected for their degree physical dissimilarity to wolf are examined. The number ancestral dominant submissive behaviour patterns used within single-breed groups ranged two (Cavalier King Charles spaniel) 15 (Siberian husky), correlated positively with which breed physically wolf, as assessed panel 14 dog counsellors. When signals displayed each were grouped according development they first appear, those smallest repertoires found draw most appearing before 20 days age suggesting paedomorphism has accompanied behavioural paedomorphism.
