摘要: We assess associations between chemosensory capacity and foraging mode within lacertid lizards. Species of Lacertidae differ considerably in indices mode, therefore seem well suited to test the adaptive nature a coupling sensory ecology. observed tongue-flick (TF) rates members from eight species field experimental conditions with no prey stimuli, chemical visual stimuli both stimuli. All increased TF response purely cues, increase was most pronounced when types were offered simultaneously. Absolute differed among species, means obtained situations correlated closely those field. that spend relatively large amount their time budget actively searching for food tend use vomeronasal system more frequently. Although all our study retained recognizing chemicals, data corroborate idea functional link an active style usage information.
