摘要: Purpose. Diabetes mellitus is characterized by hyperglycemia resulting from defects in insulin secretion, action or both. The use of medicinal plants for the treatment diabetes dates back Ebers papyrus about 1550 B.C. One major problems with herbal drugs that active ingredients are not well defined. It important to know components and their molecular interactions which will help analyze therapeutic efficacy also standardize product. There a number known anti-diabetic effect possess similarities chemical components, e.g. iridoid secoiridoid glycosides. Methods . In this study, we have compared structure various glycosides design novel pharmacophore. We further developed structure-activity relationship inhibition glycogen phosphorylase-a. Conclusion. By using docking studies, proposing, first time, phosphorylase-a activity common target iridoids secoiridoids elicit effects.
