Large magnetic entropy change near room temperature in La0.7(Ca0.27Ag0.03)MnO3 perovskite

摘要: Abstract In this paper, the magnetic properties and magnetocaloric effect (MCE) of La 0.7 (Ca 1− x Ag ) 0.3 MnO 3 (  = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.7, 1) powder samples are reported. Our polycrystalline compounds were synthesized using solid state reaction method at high temperature. Magnetization measurements versus temperature showed that all our exhibited a paramagnetic to ferromagnetic transition with decreasing The Curie temperature, T C , has been found increase from ∼250 K for  = 0–270 K  = 1. doping weakens first order phase transition, higher doping, is second order. For 0.27 0.03 )MnO composition, maxima entropy changes applied field (Δ S M 2 5 T about 4.5 7.75 J/kg K, respectively, ∼263 K. relative cooling power (RCP) values without hysteresis loss 102 271 J/kg fields 5 T, respectively.
