摘要: Fungi belonging to the Cryptococcus neoformans/C. gattii species complex (CNGSC) are pathogens causing severe infections in humans and animals, that for may result a mortality rate ranging up 70%. The CNGSC is divided into eight major molecular types, differ their virulence susceptibility. In order fully understand epidemiology of cryptococcosis, it important study world distribution population structure these pathogens. present first presenting strains isolated Poland one few using multi-species animal group as source specimen. pathogen was 2.375% tested animals. URA5-RFLP MALDI-TOF MS analyses have revealed consisted exclusively C. neoformans strains, with predominance type VNIV (C. var. neoformans). used perform identification on both sub-species level. Despite fact animals providing specimens were not treated 5-fluorocytosine, around 10% presented MIC values exceeding 64 mg/L, indicating existence 5-fluorocytosine-resistant environment.
