摘要: Abstract Pilot-scale treatment of a small community's domestic wastewater was performed over period more than 2 years. The study involves removal nitrogen in serially operated horizontal (HFCW) and vertical (VFCW) sub-surface flow constructed wetlands. Anaerobically pretreated first introduced into HFCW then VFCW before being discharged. supported denitrification addition to organic matter whereas obtained nitrification. Effective parameters such as temperature effluent recirculation rate were tested the system. Lower concentrations with 100% ratio compared nonrecirculation. On other hand, nitrification found be significantly higher summer winter. pilot-scale system achieved project goals by obtaining 98% total Kjeldahl (TKN) 79% (TN) during operation recirculation. points out novelty that discharge limits could for application hybrid wetland. shows wetland is an effective method obtain low downstream anaerobic pretreatment wastewaters communities, particularly warm climate Mediterranean Region.
