AVALIAÇÃO FITOQUÍMICA, MICROBIOLÓGICA E CITOTÓXICA DAS FOLHAS DE Gossypium arboreum L. (MALVACEAE)

摘要: The species Gossypium arboretum L. (Malvaceae) is used by local people for various diseases, mainly respiratory diseases. objective of this research was to perform a phytochemical screening, microbial activity and cytotoxic analysis crude ethanol extract the leaves species. Was one analytical qualitative methodology described Barbosa (2004), disk diffusion method at concentrations 25 mg/mL, 50 mg/mL 100 extract. Through chemical screening alkaloids, phenols, tannins, saponins espumidicas, depsideos depsidonas, triterpenes steroids, these metabolites have some activities that correlate with alleged population. With cytotoxicity possible obtain LC50 = 238 indicating showed moderate toxicity. no inhibition against Klebsiella pneumoniae (ATCC 13883), Staphylococcus aureus 25923) Escherichia coli 25922) mg/mL. results are correlated popular use, should be investigated in more depth so properly safely, always looking safety effectiveness use medicinal plants.
