摘要: Accumulating evidence suggests that psychotropic agents such as mood stabilizers, antidepressants, and antipsychotics realize their neurotrophic/neuroprotective effects by activating the mitogen activated protein kinase/extracellular signal-related kinase, PI3-kinase, wingless/glycogen synthase kinase (GSK) 3 signaling pathways. These also upregulate expression of trophic/protective molecules brain-derived neurotrophic factor, nerve growth B-cell lymphoma 2, serine-threonine Bcl-2 associated athanogene 1, inactivate proapoptotic GSK-3. They promote neurogenesis are protective in models neurodegenerative diseases ischemia. Most if not all, this was collected from animal studies used clinically relevant treatment regimens. Furthermore, human imaging have found these increase volume density brain tissue, well levels N-acetyl aspartate glutamate selected regions. Taken together, data suggest broad therapeutic potential treatment; only disorders schizophrenia, but
