摘要: Tillering is examined in relation to the morphology and habit of growth perennial herbage grasses; particular reference made effects cutting grazing. The importance tillering establishment regeneration or perennation a grass sward considered; greater attached role tillers regrowth swards cut for conservation at reproductive stage growth. Amounts are related both number size vegetative present base time cutting. probable inhibition replacement tiller buds by developing inflorescence suggested as reason poor favourable environment midsummer. The physiological mechanisms which control during development examined. Spring winter wheat (Triticum aestivum), Lolium temulentum Phalaris tuberosa used tools demonstrate that restricted development, stem extension may be more important than changes apex controlling this restriction inflorescence-bearing stem. It appears from results application range regulators substances derived meri-stematic centres, either elongating terminal meristem, indirectly metabolic activity lateral new derived. degree apical dominance shown depend on light intensity plants grown. Finally, suggest reasons commonly found apparent inability heavily fertilized ryegrass (Lolium perenne) regrow after inflorescence-emergence
