摘要: ABSTRACT In spring 1992, steppe buzzard migration was studied by tracking radar in the Arava Valley near Hazeva (150 m below sea level) and Negev Highlands Sede Boqer (470 above level). Entire gliding soaring phases were recorded. The flight altitude of buzzards depended on time day. Migration slightly higher ground lasted longer towards sunset than Negev. maximum altitudes, about 2000 1000 Negev, reached early afternoon. relatively low average climbing rates thermals 2 m/s can be explained fact that whole diurnal circle is included this observation sites not situated at edge large rocky slopes where thermal updrafts occur, but rather flat surfaces.
