摘要: The Suape Industrial Port Complex (Pernambuco-Brazil) constructed between 1979/84 modified the ecology of area, causing great impacts in Ipojuca River. In order to assess on phytoplankton community comparing with previous studies, samples were obtained at one fixed station August/90 (rainy season) and January/91 (dry season). Collections made a nyctemeral cycle, every 2 hours by fraction method plankton net 65 µm mesh size. Hydrological data collected simultaneously. 97 taxa identified most frequent both studied period were: Oscillatoria princeps, Chaetoceros lorenzianus, Climacosphenia moniligera Licmophora abbreviata. Phytoplankton densities ranged from 142,000 cells.l-1 1,789,000 predominating nanoplankton fraction, being higher dry season, during periods intense sunlight flood tide. Species diversity was high (> 3 bits.cel.l-1), explained environment heterogeneity. changed after port construction. Now, there are many littoral species due shallow depth hydrodinamism area decrease 70% cell density compared results before construction where predominated planktonic number cells liter.
