Flexible multibody modelling for exact constraint design of compliant mechanisms

摘要: In high precision equipment, the use of compliant mechanisms is favourable as elastic joints offer advantages low friction and no backlash. If constraints in a mechanism are not carefully dealt with, even small misalignments can lead to changes natural frequencies stiffnesses. Such unwanted behaviour be avoided by applying exact constraint design, which implies that should have exactly required degrees freedom non-redundant so system kinematically statically determinate. For this purpose, we propose kinematic analysis using finite element based multibody modelling approach. mechanisms, system’s presented clearly from deformation modes with stiffness free deform while considered rigid. Jacobian matrix associated dependent coordinates full column or row rank, under-constrained over-constrained. The rank calculated singular value decomposition. an system, any motion accounted for current set visualised data right matrix. over-constrained indeterminate stress distribution derived left used visualise over-constraints. exemplified design straight guiding mechanism, where conditions clearly.
