摘要: Flows of two immiscible liquids are encountered in a diverse range processes and equipments. In particular the petroleum industry, where mixtures oil water transported pipes over long distances. Accurate prediction oil-water flow characteristics, such as pattern, holdup pressure gradient is important many engineering applications. However, despite their importance, liquid-liquid flows have not been explored to same extent gas-liquid flows. fact, systems represent very extreme two-fluid characterized by low-density ratio low viscosity ratio. density difference between phases relatively low. extends orders magnitude. Table 1.1 summarizes experimental studies reported literature on horizontal pipe flows, while inclined vertical summarized 1.2 1.3. (The tables can be found at end this article before bibliography). These reflect wide physical properties encountered. Moreover, oils emulsions may show Newtonian or non-Newtonian rheological behavior. Therefore, various concepts results related two-phase cannot readily applied systems.
