摘要: In the present study, effect of atmospheric and topographic correction to burned area delineation from Earth Observation (EO) imagery is explored. Furthermore, potential added value inclusion shortwave infrared (SWIR) bands for improving retrievals cartography investigated. particular, capability ASTER when combined with maximum likelihood (ML) support vector machines (SVMs) classification techniques examined herein. As a case Mediterranean site on which fire event occurred in Greece during 2007 post-fire was available used. The combination (orthorectification) SWIR returned most accurate results detection. SVMs showed highest accuracy, showing promising delineating areas. scar mapping were obtained use an orthorectified image spectral bands, at least this our study site. Our offer very important contribution understanding high-resolution such as that estimation. This also corroborates usefulness processing step be incorporated modelling schemes areas data. Findings potentially provide useful information towards development EO-based aim operationally services related estimation area. considerable scientific practical wider users’ community given continuation free access today observations space sensors globally.
