摘要: Intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) is an important cause of low back pain. Recent evidence suggests that in addition to abnormal and excessive mechanical loading, inflammation may be a key driver for both IDD Obesity, known risk factor IDD, now increasingly being recognized as systemic inflammatory state with adipokines postulated likely mediators. The aim this review was summarize the current literature regarding role pathophysiology IDD. A systematic search performed using OVID Medline, EMBASE PubMed databases identify all studies assessing adipokines. Fifteen were included present review. Leptin most commonly assessed adipokine. Ten 15 conducted humans; three rats two humans rats. Studies focused on variety topics ranging from receptor identification, pathway analysis, genetic associations, proteonomics. Currently, data human animal experiments demonstrate significant effects leptin adiponectin internal milieu intervertebral discs. However, future are needed determine molecular relationships between avenues therapeutic targets.
