摘要: N-nitroso compounds and their precursors, nitrites nitrates, have been hypothesized as risk factors, vitamins C E, which inhibit formation, protective factors for brain tumors. A case-control study of maternal diet during pregnancy astrocytoma, the most common childhood tumor, was conducted by Childrens Cancer Group. The included 155 cases under age six at diagnosis same number matched controls selected random-digit dialing. trend observed consumption cured meats, contain preformed nitrosamines (a class compounds) precursors (adjusted odds ratio [OR] highest quartile intake relative to lowest = 1.7, P 0.10). However, no strong trends were nitrosamine (OR 0.8, 0.60); nitrite 1.3, 0.54); nitrate 0.7, 0.43); vitamin 0.37); or E 0.48). Iron supplements associated with a significant decrease in 0.5, 95 percent confidence interval 0.3-0.8). effect several dietary differed income level, making interpretation results difficult. Future research should investigate components not assessed this study, these may explain disparate effects level. provide limited support hypothesis.
