摘要: Community Based Conservation (CBC) has become the catch–all solution to social and ecological problems plaguing traditional top–down, protectionist conservation approaches. CBC been particularly popular throughout Africa as a way gain local support for wildlife measures that have previously excluded people their development needs. This article shows that, despite rhetoric of devolution participation associated with new models, planning in Tanzania remains top–down endeavour, communities specialized socio–ecological knowledge delegated margins.
