摘要: We report time‐resolved electron energy loss spectroscopy results for the desorption of CO from Cu(001) and Cu(011). The measurements were performed isothermally effectively at constant coverage. present an analysis based on a quasiequilibrium model that expresses pseudo‐first‐order rate in terms virial expansion. this demonstrate existence small, long‐range attractive interactions as well expected short‐range repulsive between adsorbed molecules. interplay these two types leads to kinetic compensation effect can be easily understood vanishing coefficients. Thus, simple systems, origin lies statistical thermodynamics phase, while dynamical events associated with event apparently play lesser role. relationship technique others is investigated, its generality emphasized.
