摘要: Short-term oestradiol treatment modulates hippocampus-dependent memory and synaptic plasticity in the hippocampus. Long-term can also enhance hippocampus- dependent memory, although effects of long-term on are unknown. We investigated at Schaeffer Collateral/CA1 synapse 8-month-old female rats. In addition, we determined role endogenous activation muscarinic acetylcholine receptors (mAChRs) transmission using scopolamine (1 μm), an antagonist mAChRs. Hippocampus slices from ovariectomised rats that were treated with oestradiol-containing capsules for 5 months compared received cholesterol-containing capsules. Unexpectedly, application significantly increased baseline field excitatory postsynaptic potentials (fEPSP) decreased paired pulse facilitation (PPF) cholesterol-treated Baseline fEPSPs PPF not modulated oestradiol-treated by scopolamine. Slices showed enhanced potentiation relative to Scopolamine reduced magnitude Taken together, these results suggest mAChRs have a significant effect through decrease probability glutamate release blocks this enhances theta-burst stimulation-induced middle-aged rat, is mediated
