摘要: Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence and incidence vestibular vertigo in general population describe its clinical characteristics associated factors. Methods: neurotologic survey had a two-stage sampling design: nationwide modified random digit dialing for participation German National Telephone Health Interview Survey 2003 (response rate 52%) with screening sample 4,869 participants moderate or severe dizziness vertigo, followed by detailed interviews developed through piloting validation (n = 1,003, response 87%). Diagnostic criteria were rotational positional recurrent nausea oscillopsia imbalance. Vestibular detected our interview specificity 94% sensitivity 88% concurrent using neurotology clinic diagnoses as an accepted standard 61). Results: lifetime 7.8%, 1-year 5.2%, 1.5%. In 80% affected individuals, resulted medical consultation, interruption daily activities, sick leave. Female sex, age, lower educational level, various comorbid conditions, including tinnitus, depression, several cardiovascular diseases risk factors, past year univariate analysis. multivariable analysis, only female self-reported hypertension, dyslipidemia independent effect on vertigo. Conclusions: is common population, affecting more than 5% adults 1 year. frequency health care impact symptoms at level have been underestimated.
