摘要: Microdosimetry is a particularly powerful method to estimate the relative biological effectiveness (RBE) of any mixed radiation field. This convenient for therapeutic heavy ion therapy (HIT) beams, referring ions larger than protons, where RBE beam can vary significantly along Bragg curve. Additionally, due sharp dose gradients at end peak (BP), or spread out BP, make accurate measurements and estimations properties high spatial resolution required, less millimetre. requirement makes silicon microdosimetry attractive thicknesses sensitive volumes commonly being  ∼10 [Formula: see text]m less.
