摘要: Purpose. To estimate and compare clinical outcomes costs associated with mechanical stapling versus hand-sewn sutured technique in creation of ileocolic anastomoses after right sided colon surgery. Methods. A previously conducted meta-analysis was updated for estimates anastomotic leak rates other outcomes. value analysis model developed to cost savings due improved a hypothetical cohort 100 patients who underwent surgery involving either or anastomoses. Cost data were obtained from publicly available literature. Results. Findings the reported that group had lower leaks 2.4%  (n = 11/457) compared 6.1% (n 44/715). Utilizing this data, estimated total potential hospital be around $1,130,656 100-patient using instead suturing, accounting incremental supplies $49,400. These attributed index costs, reduced OR time reoperation driven by stapling. Conclusion. Mechanical can considered as clinically economically favorable option suturing establishing undergoing
