摘要: Six painful hips in five patients were examined with magnetic resonance (MR) imaging and found to have diffuse signal abnormalities the marrow of femoral head neck, which extended into intertrochanteric area cases. The abnormal regions low intensity on images obtained a short repetition time (TR) echo (TE) isointense or hyperintense long TR/TE images--findings that been attributed by others bone edema. Edema was also seen just above acetabulum two No focal characteristic osteonecrosis seen. Osteonecrosis subsequently shown be present all six heads at core biopsy (three cases) subsequent development MR reported highly specific for cases). affected had radiographically normal subtly osteopenic intense radionuclide uptake scintigraphy, lesser abnormality neck region. Follow-up examinations showed transient. Although proximal femur are not specific, they may indicate presence head.
