Phase behavior of surfactant-alcohol-oil-water cubic liquid crystals

摘要: X-ray small-angle diffraction experiments have been performed on the mesophases of a system single-chain surfactant, short-chain alcohol, and comparable amounts oil water. We focus in this report two cubic liquid crystalline phases probable space-groups Pm3n Fd3m. It is suggested that structures both correspond to an aqueous film delimiting networks polyhedral cells (with interior hydrophilic walls).
