Test of scaling in muon-pair production by hadrons

摘要: We have measured the inclusive production of massive dimuons (7 < or = M/sub mumu/GeV/c/sup 2/) by 200-, 300-, and 400-GeV protons incident on Cu in order to check whether dimensionless cross section mumu3/(dsigma/dM/sub mumu d yy-italic/=0 is a function mumu2//s alone, where s square c.m. energy. The results support scaling hypothesis.
