摘要: • Febrile seizures are a common pediatric problem, yet there is great deal of disagreement about the appropriate diagnostic evaluation child with this disorder. We reviewed routine tests performed on 100 consecutive children admitted their first "simple" febrile seizure. The studies included lumbar puncture, measurement blood glucose, serum calcium, electrolytes, and BUN levels, cell count, urinalysis, skull roentgenograms, EEG. Though resulting in significant expense, these investigations proved to be little value. Based experience review current literature, we concluded that procedures should only when specifically called for by patient's condition or medical history. ( Am J Dis Child 1981;135:431-433)
