摘要: This paper provides an overview of papers presented for a special section the journal on Forests and Climate Change. A number these were at XXIV IUFRO World Congress in Salt Lake City, USA October 2014. The this indicate value scientific tools supporting forest decision makers adapting to climate change. These need be strongly embedded science-practice partnerships build common understanding nature future change its potential impacts forests dependent communities. can occur through formalised boundary organisations or more ad-hoc facilitated workshops. Boundary activities link global system impact different types weather events local scale. They include relevant policy because current policies institutional arrangements significant barriers adaptation. Forest management objectives may reflect effects changing productivity. Developing options that work both mitigating will important small-scale subsistence users larger communities forest-based industries.
