摘要: Intraspecific allometry of pup mass as a function maternal was analysed in Antarctic fur seals (Arctocephalus gazella), highly dimorphic species. The allometric exponent 0.6, much lower than interspecific comparisons. Slopes were the same for mother-son pairs mother-daughter pairs, but adjusted means significantly higher former, indicating reproductive effort mothers sons. correlation with explained 59% variance female mas only 18% that male mass. Females appeared to produce sons which big possible. Relative decreased increasing bigger and presumably older mothers, contrary expectations from life history theory. Sex ratio pups showed no relation
