摘要: Momordica charantia is commonly used as a vegetable and folk medicine in most parts of South Asia. This study aims to determine compare the antioxidant, metal chelating antiglycation activities aqueous extracts M. fruit flesh (MCF) pulp (MCP) fractions. Our results show that MCP has pronounced DPPH ABTS radical scavenging potential compared MCF. In assay both fractions illustrated considerable inhibitory against formation AGEs induced by glucose with an efficacy 75 67% 150 µl MCF respectively, almost equal 0.3mM amino guanidine. Results for catalysed protein fragmentation autoxidative glycoxidation assays demonstrate inhibited fragmentation. The percentage relative standard deviation three replicate measurements was ≤ 3.0% antiglycation. antioxidant regression values (0.981 0.991) (0.967 0.999) were also recorded. We conclude possess high are equally good sources antiglycating agents.
