摘要: Many Monte Carlo simulations ignore coherent scattering events and utilise the Klein-Nishina free electron distribution, rather than incoherent differential cross-section, for choosing trajectories of incoherently scattered photons. We assess accuracy this model by comparing its results with those complete bound (form factor approach), which simulates events, uses appropriate angular distributions. Both analytic calculations demonstrate that use distributions significantly underestimates distribution photon energy resulting from low medium photons incident upon carbon, iron, platinum barriers. In using approximations to calculate barrier transmission, significant errors occur only primary energies below 100 keV. Implementation reduces computational efficiency our code 10-25%.
