摘要: The rapid progress in understanding the genes of yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae can be supplemented by two-dimensional (2-D) gel studies to understand global patterns protein synthesis, modification, and degradation. first step building a database for is identify many spots on 2-D gels. We are using sequencing, overexpression high-copy number plasmids, amino acid analysis proteins from gels yeast. technique involves labeling samples with different acids quantitative image determine relative abundances. observed abundances then searched against current 2600 known sequences. At present about 90 our maps have been identified, rising rapidly. With map, it will soon possible use study regulatory pathways normal mutant yeast, knowledge products that respond each genetic or environmental manipulation.
