摘要: By means of N-body simulations, we study the response of a galactic disc to minor merger event. We find that non-self-gravitating, spiral-like features are induced in thick disc. As have shown previous work, this ‘ringing’ also leaves an imprint velocity space (the u–v plane) small spatial regions, such as solar neighbourhood. relaxes after event, clumps the u–v plane get closer with time, allowing us estimate time impact. In addition confirming possibility diagnostic, here show more realistic scenario, infall trajectory perturber gives rise azimuthal dependence structure phase space. defined by energy and angular momentum stars is better choice than space, remain visible even large local volumes. This makes their observational detection much easier since one need not be restricted volume. information about impact, mass its stored kinematics stars.
