Diffusion in intermetallic compounds

摘要: Recent studies on self-diffusion and interdiffusion in various types of intermetallic compounds are reviewed. Diffusion mechanisms B2-type discussed, which related with the diffusivity ratio ordering energy constituent elements. The measurement for a Ni3Ge compound suggests that higher major element is general trend Ll2-type consistent expectation based geometrical arrangement Ni Ge Ni3Ge. Single-phase experiments most suitable to determine interdiffusivity, much different from data multiphase reaction diffusion experiments; latter involves extrinsic effects such as grain boundary diffusion. TiAl, Ti3Al CoTi discussed self-diffusivities terms Darken relation.
