摘要: Echinococcus granulosus, which causes cystic echinococcosis, is an uncommon condition in the United States. We report a case of 78-year-old Caucasian female who presented to her primary care physician 1999 with right upper quadrant pain. She had history frequent foreign travel. Abdominal imaging demonstrated 12.5-cm hepatic cyst. The cyst was drained and pathology on fluid indicated no bacterial, parasitic, or malignant etiology. Serology tests for Entamoeba antibodies were negative. patient underwent multiple aspirations until 2008 recurring symptoms. In 2008, abdominal solid internal components within Repeat ordered abnormally elevated. Cyst aspiration protoscolex. this discuss diagnosis management hydatid emphasize that increasing globalization, physicians must maintain high index clinical suspicion parasitic etiologies patients cysts.
