摘要: Human papillomavirus (HPV) is the causative agent of cervical cancer (CC), second most common cause deaths in Venezuela. Early detection and prompt treatment precancerous lesions prevent up to 80% CC cases. In Venezuela, difficult access screening means that disease detected at advanced stages, especially more vulnerable indigenous populations. The aim study was detect HPV infection 60 women who attended gynaecology service Maniapure Outpatient Clinic Bolivar State, carried out using visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA), Schiller test conventional cytology (Pap testing). typing were polymerase chain reaction. 58.3% belonged Enepa community 41.7% white Creole women. showed irregularities staining exocervical epithelium 8.33% patients, suggesting infection. VIA positive for 10.0% cytopathology report, 81.67% tested negative intraepithelial lesions. overall frequency 35.0%. 45.71% 20.0% 71.43% had a high-risk single percentage viral lower patients than population; therefore, programmes latter population need be improved.
