摘要: Dry weight allocation to vegetative and reproductive structures in six perennial herbs was studied at three successional sites (quarry, grassland scrub) on the magnesian limestone County Durham, England, during summer of 1978. Two species showed little difference between but other four all displayed same pattern. Population effort highest quarry lowest grassland. Reproductive flowering individuals however sites, so that between-site differences population were entirely a consequence variation proportion plants which flowered. Indirect evidence suggests initiation may be triggered by attainment critical leaf weight. It is suggested can explained terms levels competition each site does not necessarily decline uniformly succession.
